So let’s start with a bit about me, I’m 22, am nearly qualified as an electrician, and I play bass guitar in Syruss.

After I dabbled in guitar at secondary school and never got on with it I decided to pick up the bass, now I’ve been serious about playing for 2 ½ years and love it. I am currently trying to improve on my song writing, and am learning to play slap bass.

My taste in music is what some people would call diverse it ranges from thrash, heavy metal to funk, although mainly I like things loud and heavy with a good vocal. As you can probably tell I don’t care for being tied to 1 specific type/brand of music.

My favourite bands ? I just can’t pick one as there are far too many! Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Motorhead, Linkin Park, Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Paramore, Muse, Incubus…………etc I could go on all day. I own so much music be it in cd form or mp3 that I just seem to change what I listen to every month! So my tastes are always changing!

I love live music and have seen all the above bands at least once, and am at Reading and Donington festivals if I can every year but I also like to take in local bands in and around Plymouth.

My influences on bass guitar mainly are from flea (RHCP) - he has such a presence and effect on the music as well as on the band in general, I love every part of his playing! The way he can deliver insane slap bass on tracks, and then switch to playing slow melodic chord runs is just amazing, although I also like Cliff Burton (ex Metallica) his way of working solos and effects into his bass playing I just love.
